Line marking improves Mayo county town estate entrance

ROAD upgrade works have taken place at the entrance to a housing estate on the Newport Road in Castlebar.

New line marking at Patrician Park, completed in recent days, will make traffic flow at the entrance safer, said Councillor Ger Deere..

The need for line marking at the housing, on what is a busy Newport Road, had been highlighted by Councillor Deere at a municipal meeting last month. And he has welcomed that it is now in place to assist with safer access for motorists and also pedestrians crossing at the junction.

The Patrician Park entrance is wide, and proper lining was needed, he said, with cars swinging in very quickly.
