Tribute paid to Mayo golf club groundsman on his retirement

AFTER two decades of service, Ballyhaunis Golf Club has bade a fond farewell to groundsman Kieran Fitzmaurice who has retired.

In a social media post, the club extended thanks and wished Kieran a very happy retirement after 20 years of service to the club.

The club statement said: “He has been a pillar to us, and kept the course in pristine condition every day, every week, every year, no matter what the weather. It is credit to him that our club remains open 365 days a year.

“We wish Kieran the very best of luck in his retirement.”

In tributes, Kieran was described as a vital part of the growth and development of the club over the past 20 years. The numerous positive comments from members and visitors over the years were testimony to his fantastic work.
