Mayo cormorant survey on river catchment to be raised in Seanad
THE impact cormorants are having on salmon numbers in Mayo's world-famous River Moy will be raised in the Seanad this morning.
Senator Mark Duffy is raising the need for the Minister of State with special responsibility for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity to make a statement on carrying out a breeding cormorant survey on the Moy catchment area to assess their impact on the decline of salmon in the river.
It is one of the Commencement Matters selected by the cathaoirleach for discussion from 9.30 a.m.
