Saga over missing floodlight at top Mayo GAA venue is finally resolved

The saga over the damaged floodlighting system at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park in Castlebar is finally resolved.

The venue had not been able to accommodate night games since one of the pylons was damaged in Storm Eowyn over a year ago.

Now the missing floodlight has been replaced during works carried out this morning with the help of a 100ft. crane.

It is reported that the replacement took over two months to arrive from the United States after being ordered.

Meanwhile, Mayo GAA has also confirmed the completion of a new astroturf training pitch behind the Davitt House goal-end of Hastings Insurance MacHale Park.
