Cloudy and mild Monday for Mayo as unsettled week approaches

Monday will be mostly cloudy in Mayo with just some hazy sunny spells.

It will be dry apart from the odd spot of light rain or drizzle.

Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees, with moderate southwesterly winds freshening through the day.

Monday night will turn cloudier and breezier, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading southeastwards through the night.

Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees, with moderate to fresh winds, stronger in the west and northwest.

A more unsettled week lies ahead. Tuesday will bring blustery conditions with sunny spells and widespread showers from the northwest, some heavy with a chance of hail or thunder.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds.

Wintry showers, some of sleet and snow, are possible Tuesday night and into Wednesday, with highest temperatures falling to just 6 to 9 degrees and a sharp wind chill from strong northwesterly winds.
