Aurivo-Dale Farm partnership 'must deliver for farmer-suppliers' - ICMSA

THE Aurivo-Dale Farm strategic partnership must deliver for farmer-suppliers, the ICMSA says.

Commenting of the partnership, ICMSA president Denis Drennan welcomed greater cooperation between the milk processors and stated that is quite clear that cost-savings and efficiencies can be made on the milk processing ‘side’ and those will need to materialise.

Mr. Drennan said that since September, dairy farmers have seen milk prices collapse and milk suppliers - and only milk suppliers - will see their incomes slashed in 2026 due to the market downturn.

He said that those in the processing sector are insulated from the market downturn and it is simply not sustainable for dairy farmers to continue to subsidise inefficiencies and every other link in the dairy supply chain.

“This has to deliver for the farmer-suppliers and that’s going to have to be reflected in the milk price paid by Aurivo Co-op,” said Mr. Drennan. “That’s the only basis on which we’ll be judging the proposed strategic partnership, and we’ll be watching this very closely.”
