Death of popular Mayo taxi operator Willie Ralph evokes immense sadness
The death has occurred of Willie Ralph, Rinshinna, Castlebar.
He died peacefully at home earlier today surrounded by his loving family.
A widely-known and popular taxi operator, news of his passing has cast a cloud of sadness and regret over the county town.
A member of an old and respected Castlebar family, he is being fondly remembered in social media tributes as 'a true gentleman'.
He is deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Ann, daughter Jacinta, sons Derek, Kenneth and John, brothers Gerald, John, Tom, Kevin and Declan, sisters May (Cresham), Joyce (O’Connor), Margaret (Kane), Caroline (Tierney) and Stella (Halligan), daughters-in-law Denise, Michelle and Alma, grandchildren Keegan, Riley, Rachael, Dillion, Blaine, Evan, Sophie, Matthew, Cian, Milo and Arlo, great grandchild Tommy, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
Willie was predeceased by his parents Mary and Gerard Ralph, sister Agnes, brothers Raymond, Kenneth and Patrick and grandson Ethan.
Remains will repose in Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Wednesday from 5 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to his residence.
Removal from his residence on Thursday morning at 10.15 a.m. (via Main street) for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Willie will be laid to rest afterwards in Breaffy Cemetery.
