Mixed fortunes for Mayo club in FAI women's cup competitions
The only Mayo team to compete in the FAI Women's Amateur Cup at the weekend bowed out at the first stage.
Ballyglass hosted Athenry on Sunday, with a solitary goal putting an end to their ambitions in the competition.
The game was all even until the 63rd minute when Chloe McHugh broke the deadlock for the more experienced Galway side.
Ballyglass also saw action in the FAI Under 17 Cup this week, running out 1-0 victors over Ballyvary Blue Bombers on Thursday evening. Maria Keane scored the decider on 39 minutes.
Next weekend Westport United will contest the Connacht Under 18 Girls Cup final. Arrow Harps provide the opposition, with the final taking place at Moyne Villa on Sunday at 12 noon.
