Average waiting time for appointment with Mayo adult community mental health teams is six weeks

The average waiting time for patients seeking an appointment with the adult community mental health teams in Mayo is approximately six weeks.

However, with urgent appointments are offered within one to two days, Councillor Michael Loftus was informed at today's meeting of the HSE West Forum.

There is 24/7 emergency assessment available in the emergency department of Mayo University Hospital as necessary, a spokesperson outlined.

"I can assure you that we have an active waiting list management system, regularly reviewing the clinical priority of referrals," the spokesperson added.
