Crews responding to burst water main in north Mayo
UISCE Éireann crews are responding to a burst water main in Ballina which is impacting on supply to customers in the town this evening.
The burst has occurred on a main at Teeling Street.
Uisce Éireann customers on Teeling Street, Lord Edward Street, Kevin Barry Street, Bury Street, Station Road, Morrison Terrace, Childers Heights, Rehins Fort and parts of the Foxford Road, including adjoining housing estates, will experience water outages tonight as a result of this burst.
Traffic management will be required on Teeling Street in order for the main to be repaired safely and efficiently.
In order to minimise traffic disruption in the area this evening, repair works will begin from approximately 9 p.m. Repairs are estimated to be complete by 2 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Colette Scahill, Uisce Éireann water operations manager, said crews will work to repair the main and restore supply to affected customers as quickly as possible.
“We acknowledge the impact of unplanned outages for our customers, and we thank affected residents and businesses for their patience while we work to restore supply,” she said.
