Special Tidy Towns awards presented to Mayo communities

The Minister for Rural Community Development Dara Calleary has presented a number of special awards to communities in Mayo.
He did so at the launch of the 2026 SuperValu National Tidy Towns Awards.
The Mayo recipients were Balla, Ballyhaunis, Belmullet, Claremorris, Cong, Westport and Mulranny.
The overall winners of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan - Local Authority Pollinator Award in the Village/Small Town category was Belmullet. The award was presented to Belmullet Tidy Towns committee members Katherine Ni Mhongain, Margaret Tallott and Mary Keenaghan by Minister Dara Calleary, Anne Marie Curley, Cavan County Council and Sheila Murphy, Mayo County Council

Regional winners of the Waters and Communities Award was Ballyhaunis. Laura Dinraths, Marliese Hertfelder and Padraig Shannon were presented with the award by Minister Dara Calleary and Luke Kenny, of the Local Authority Water Programme (LAWPRO).
