Mayo county town grieves passing of Fintan Scriney

The death has taken place of Fintan Scriney, Áras Attracta, Swinford, and formerly of Spencer Street, Castlebar.

He died peacefully yesterday in the exceptional care of the team at Áras Attracta, surrounded by his loving family.

The news has evoked sadness and regret in the community.

Predeceased by his loving parents Michael and Bridie, he is deeply regretted by his loving brothers Michael (Dublin), Noel, Paul and sister Marian (Dublin), sisters-in-law Rachel and Chris, brother-in- law Finbarr, nieces and nephews Michael, Stephen, David, Laura, Darragh, Aideen, Rachael, Annmarie, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

The Scriney family have sincerely thanked all the exceptional people who looked after Fintan over the years, both in Áras Attracta and The Sycamores, Castlebar, whom they consider his extended family.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home on Sunday from 4.30 to 6 p.m.

Removal from Coady's Funeral Home on Monday at 10.30 a.m. to the Church of The Holy Rosary for Requiem Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Burial takes place afterwards in the Old Cemetery, Castlebar.
