Mayo car sales business closes its Castlebar premises in blow to town

Griffith's Motor Group has announced its decision to close its operation at Newport Road, Castlebar.

It had been located at the former Chadwick's premises for many years and the news represents a blow for the county town's commercial sector.

A statement by the company outlined: "We would like to sincerely thank all our customers, friends, and the local community for your support over the years — it has been greatly appreciated.

"We are still here and fully open in Claremorris, with our dedicated sales, service, hire and DOE departments all operating as normal.

"Many of our familiar team members are now based in Claremorris and look forward to continuing to look after you.

"We look forward to welcoming you in Claremorris."
