Cloudy Tuesday expected for Mayo with some bright breaks

Tuesday will bring cloudy conditions to Mayo, with patchy drizzle or scattered light showers in places.

A few bright or sunny breaks will develop through the day.

Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in light to moderate west to southwest winds.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with patchy drizzle and mist.

Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds, freshening along northwestern coastal parts towards morning.

More persistent rain and drizzle will begin to push into western and northwestern coastal areas before dawn.

Looking ahead, Wednesday will start cloudy with patchy drizzle before more persistent rain spreads from the northwest southeastwards through the morning and afternoon.

A clearance to drier and brighter conditions will then extend gradually from the northwest, with some late evening sunshine for most.

Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees before it turns cooler as the rain clears, with northwesterly winds developing.

A cold night is expected, with temperatures dropping to between -2 and 2 degrees and the possibility of frost.
