Gardaí confirm discovery of body at urban location in Mayo

Gardaí have confirmed they were alerted to an incident at Pavilion Road in Castlebar earlier today.

A male, aged in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body taken to the mortuary at Mayo University Hospital.

The local coroner has been informed.

It is understood the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious.
