Warm tributes to 'good-natured' west Mayo man Michael Duffy
The death has occurred of Michael Duffy, Kilsallagh Upper, Westport.
He died peacefully at the Mayo Hospice, Castlebar.
A kind and affable personality, he was a popular member of the Westport Branch of PTAA for many years.
He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken sister Mary (Kilsallagh Upper), cousins, his faithful friends, relatives and neighbours, to whom sympathy is tendered.
Michael was predeceased by his father William Duffy in April 1988 and his mother Catherine (Kitty) Duffy (née O’Connor) in April 2005.
Many warm tributes are being paid to him on social media.
One stated: "He was the most good-natured, kindest man."
Another said: "He was such a gentleman, calm and kind, who took pleasure in life’s simple things."
Michael will repose at Lecanvey (Westport) Community Centre tomorrow (Tuesday) from 4.30 p.m. with prayers at 6 p.m, followed by removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Lecanvey.
Funeral Mass takes place in St. Patrick’s Church, Lecanvey on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Afterwards, Michael will be laid to rest with his parents in Kilgeever Cemetery.
