Mayo in mourning over passing of popular personality Jason Bourke
The death of Jason Bourke, Brabazon Heights, Swinford, has evoked an immense sense of loss and sorrow in the community.
A member of the staff of Sheridan Electrics, Castlebar, he was held in high esteem in the community and had a long association with Swinford Football Club.
In a tribute, Sheridan Electrics said: "There are no words to express how much Jason will be missed by us all."
A customer of Sheridan Electrics said in a note of condolences on social media: "I often had dealings with Jason regarding my purchases and he was always friendly, efficient and helpful."
In a post on its Facebook page, Swinford FC stated: "Jason was a massive part of this club over the years holding many roles, senior team manager, youth coach, committee member and sponsor, just to name a few.
"He was not only a coach and mentor but he was a friend to everyone in the club and he will be truly missed by everyone who had the pleasure and privilege to have known him."
Jason will be deeply loved and missed by his parents Mary and Stephen, sister Lorna, brothers Nigel and Philip, nieces Olivia and Isla, nephews Max and Daniel, sisters-in-law Deborah and Ciara, Aunts, Uncles, family circle, Swinford F.C., neighbours, friends and work colleagues, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
Reposing in Campbell's Funeral Home, Swinford, this evening (Wednesday) from 5 to 8 p.m.
Requiem Mass takes place at 12 noon on Thursday in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Swinford, followed by private cremation on Friday in Shannon Crematorium.
