Travel counsellors will host cruise information event in Mayo hotel

Mayo based travel counsellors Emma Campbell, Lorraine McGreal, Rachael Higgins and Emer McDermott are inviting local residents to an exclusive cruise information evening at the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport, on Sunday, April 12, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

Those wishing to register for the event can do so here.

The complimentary event, hosted in partnership with leading cruise suppliers, is designed to demystify cruising and highlight why a cruise holiday can be one of the best value-for-money ways to see the world.

Guests will have the opportunity to: Discover a wide range of cruise styles, from family-friendly mega ships to intimate boutique vessels and river cruises; learn how cruising offers exceptional value, with accommodation, meals, entertainment and multiple destinations all included in one price. Speak directly with expert cruise partners about new itineraries, on-board experiences and special offers; get personalised advice from local travel counsellors on the right cruise for their budget, travel style and wish list.

Emer McDermott an independent travel counsellor based in Westport said:

“Cruising has changed enormously in recent years. There really is a ship and itinerary for everyone, whether you are a first-time cruiser, a couple looking for a special celebration, a family wanting stress-free school holiday travel, multi-generational groups or seasoned explorers in search of new horizons. This event is a relaxed, no-obligation way for people to come along, ask questions and find out just how much value is included in a cruise holiday.”

Many cruise lines also offer added-value extras such as drinks packages, on-board credit and Wi-Fi, which can make the overall cost extremely competitive versus a traditional land-based holiday.

What makes travel counsellors unique is that unlike traditional high-street agencies or online booking sites, travel counsellors provide a highly personal, one-to-one travel service. Each travel counsellor takes the time to get to know each client in detail, understanding their interests, preferences and budget before designing a completely tailor-made cruise experience. From matching the right ship and cabin type to arranging pre- and post-cruise stays, private transfers and special celebrations on board. Holidays are fully financially protected, giving clients added confidence when booking.

Rachael Higgins from Kiltimagh added: “My clients are never just a booking reference. "I look after them personally, from our first conversation about their dream cruise to the moment they arrive back home with amazing memories. This event is about sharing that knowledge, showcasing the variety and value of cruising, and helping people find a holiday that really fits them.”

Each of the four travel counsellor hosts, have close to 20 years of experience in the industry and are well placed to give honest advice to guests attending the Castlecourt Hotel on April 12.
