Suspected firearm and drugs uncovered in Mayo search operation

Members of the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a residential property in Lahardane on April 1, 2026.

During the course of the operation, a suspected firearm was recovered.

The weapon has since been sent for ballistic analysis.

Gardaí also seized quantities of cocaine and cannabis at the property.

No arrests have been made at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.
