Thundery rain expected across Mayo on Tuesday

Tuesday will be a wet and unsettled day across Mayo, with showery outbreaks of rain continuing from overnight, turning heavy and possibly thundery at times through the morning and afternoon.

The rain will ease through the evening.

Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh, southeast winds, easing to mostly light later.

Tonight will be mostly dry but cloudy with limited clear spells.

Areas of mist and fog will form in light variable breezes. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.

Looking ahead, Wednesday will be dry for most with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.

Cloud will build from the west through the afternoon, with rain and drizzle moving into western coastal counties in the evening.

Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly breezes.

Thursday will turn cooler with sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy and possibly thundery, and highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in fresh and gusty westerly winds.
