Speeding issue in south Mayo village
THE gardaí are being asked to increase enforcement and slow traffic down as it travels through Kilmaine.
There was a near bad accident in the past week on the Ballinrobe side of the village.
There are speed restrictions but they are not being enforced, Councillor Damien Ryan told a local municipal district meeting.
Councillor Ryan previously funded a digital speedometer but it needs to be moved closer to the village centre, he told council management.
The local representative has asked for a pedestrian crossing in the village and TII are considering feasibility and options.
