Mayo communities in mourning over death of Marian Quinn

The death of Marian Quinn (née Durkan), Quinn’s Row, Westport Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Rubble, Killasser, Swinford, is deeply mourned.

Marian ran a very successful guest house in Castlebar for many years with immense professionalism, care and attention.

Warm tributes are being paid to her on social media.

One stated: "Marian was a wonderful, warm, gentle, kind lady who always welcomed us to her home with such kindness and warmth and always had time for a chat whenever we met. She will be deeply missed by everyone."

"Such a beautiful sincere person and true friend," another said.

"I remember Marian as a sincere and genuinely nice person," another observed.

She will be forever missed by her beloved husband and soulmate P.J.Quinn, her heartbroken sons and daughters David, Donal, Niamh (Carter) and Ciara (Walsh), sons-in-law Francis Carter, Colm Walsh and Marc Wildes, her daughter-in-law Catriona Quinn (née McHale), grandchildren Naoise, Fionn, Eabha, Cara, Rían, Shay, Lucia, Lily and Sophia.

Marian is also mourned by her brothers Micheal, Gerard, Kevin and Martin, sisters Una Lyons, Angela Timoney and Bernadette Quinn, brothers-in-law Austin Quinn, James Quinn, Danny Lyons, John Quinn, John Fahy, Shane Timoney and Gerry Faherty, sisters-in-law Anne Quinn, Teresa Quinn, Edel Quinn, Sheila Quinn and Margaret Faherty, nieces and nephews, whom she adored, her cousins, relatives and many friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Matian was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Michael (Killasser), her sister Margaret Bourke and her sister-in-law Cathy Durkan.

Marian will repose at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Thursday from 6 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m.

Remains will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, on Friday at 1.45 p.m. for Requiem Mass at 2 p.m.

Afterwards Marian will be laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar.

The family has stated it appreciates the kindness, love and support at this heartbreaking time.
