Passing of retired Mayo hospital porter Michael Moran

The death has taken place of Michael Moran, Drumnaguncun, Glenisland, Castlebar.

A former porter at Mayo University Hospital, he died suddenly at his home yesterday.

Warm tributes are being paid to him on social media.

One stated: "He was a valued part of the Glenisland community and will be greatly missed."

Another said: "Michael was a great gentleman."

Michael is deeply regretted by his heartbroken family: his brothers John Joe (Manchester), Peter (Manchester) and Stephen (Castlebar), sisters Una (Manchester), Ann Lohan (Roscommon), Rosaleen Moran (Castlebar) and Bridie Walsh (Castlebar), sister-in-law Rita, brothers-in-law Sean, Danny and John, his much loved nieces and nephews, brothers-in- law, sister in law, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Annie, brothers Paddy, Frank and sister Mary Murray

Michael will repose at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Friday from 5 until 7 o'clock, followed by removal to his home.

Removal from his home on Saturday at 11 a.m. to the Holy Rosary Church, Glenisland, arriving at 11.30 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.

Interment takes place afterwards in Glenisland Cemetery.
