Wet start to Wednesday before showers move in across Mayo

Overnight rain will clear eastwards on Wednesday morning, giving way to sunny spells through the day.

Scattered blustery showers will follow, with some very heavy falls possible later in the day.

Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees, with best values further east. Winds will be brisk and southwesterly.

The unsettled pattern will continue into Thursday, which will be cool and breezy with sunny spells and heavy showers.

Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in fresh and gusty west to southwest winds.

Friday and next weekend will remain unsettled with cooler than average conditions for early summer.
