Two-vehicle collision occurs on the N5 roadway at Ballyvary

A TRAFFIC accident has occurred on the N5 roadway near the village of Ballyvary, near Castlebar, this morning.

Emergency services are currently at the scene following the collision involving a Brink's-Mat security vehicle and a car.

The driver of the car has been taken by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar. Injuries have also been sustained by the driver of the van and one of his colleagues in the truck.

Gardaí have confirmed the N5 roadway at the location has been reduced to one-lane traffic while emergency services remain at the scene. Consequently, motorists can expect delays.
