Plans for Angel Memorial Garden for little lives lost too soon

PLANS are being put in place to establish an Angel Memorial Garden to commemorate all the little lives lost too soon.

A public meeting took place in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford, with the aim of establishing a community project to organise the creation of the Angel Memorial Garden.

The garden will acknowledge miscarriages, stillbirths, neonatal, infant and child loss, providing a place of comfort and love.

There was a fantastic turnout on the night and everyone was very keen and excited to get the project underway as soon as possible.

The meeting was chaired by local lady Stephanie Maloney who has a blog, Smiling4Sophia, and who, after losing her own baby, Sophia, has been a great support for other parents both near and far.

Stephanie welcomed everyone and gave a special welcome to local priest Fr. Dermot Meehan.

A committee has been formed and a follow-up meeting will be arranged in the near future. All are very welcome to come along, or if you interested in anyway you can get in touch via the Angel Memorial Garden Facebook page anytime or email angelmemorialgarden@gmail.com.

The committee members are: chairperson Stephanie Maloney, vice-chairperson Anita McNicholas O'Sullivan, secretary Sarah McNicholas, treasurer Emma McHugh, assistant treasurers Natasha Durkan Ginty, Emma Kirrane and Bernadette King, and PRO Karen Gallagher.
