Injured climber rescued from Croagh Patrick

MAYO Mountain Rescue was tasked by An Garda Síochána yesterday in assisting a male casualty who had sustained multiple injuries from a fall below the summit of Croagh Patrick.

The man suffered head and chest injuries. Weather conditions at the time became poor with low cloud and rain.

The patient was stretchered off the mountain and transferred to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar by Westport Unit of the Order of Malta.
