Online dating apps force closure of Knock Marriage Introductions

ONLINE dating apps have forced the closure of Knock Marriage Introductions, formerly Knock Marriage Bureau, after 51 years.

The service, set up in 1968, was responsible for bringing together over 1,000 couples who married.

Fr. Stephen Farragher, director of the centre, said there had been a sharp decline in the numbers availing of the service in recent years and a decision has now been taken to close it.

"It's the end of an era," he stated.
