Mayo team compete at Go For Life national games

MAYO'S Go For Life team participated in the national games in DCU sports arena on Saturday, where team member Sean Horkan picked up a Spirit of the Games Award.

Supported by Mayo Sports Partnership and Parke Young at Heart club, the team, under the leadership of captain Keith Woodward, included Mary Igoe and Margaret Connor, Ballina, Mary and Sean Horkan, Turlough, and Maureen Walsh and Simin Liv, Parke.

Following an enjoyable overnight stay for visiting county, Saturday saw a busy morning and afternoon of sports competitions.

There was high praise after for the games' organisation and its volunteer support group, particularly for their high quality care and friendly welcome to all the visiting senior teams.
