Castlebar Division 2 Darts champions Key West

Key West back in the darts big time

KEY WEST have been promoted back to Division 1 for next season as they beat the Harp by five sets to two in a quality final at Flynn's Sports Bar last Friday night to claim the Flynn's Sports Bar Castlebar Town Darts League Division 2 title.

Key West took a 2-1 lead in a high quality doubles. Harp's Paul Flynn levelled the match at two sets all winning two legs on the spin.

But Key West showed why they have led Division 2 for so long this season, with the duo of Alan and Paul Barrett producing some outstanding darts to put away Harp's Rodney Clarke and James McHugh respectively, despite James hitting a 180 in his match with Paul.

It would then be Key West's Vinnie Gibbons who would seal his sides place back among the big boys next season against the Harp's Jimmy Canning, taking out both his legs on double 6 to seal a memorable win.
