Sharp drop in number of vacant general beds at Mayo hospital

A sharp drop in the number of vacant general beds has occurred at Mayo University Hospital.

The number has fallen from 33 to five in the space of 24 hours.

That's according to figures measured yesterday by the HSE and published today.

There are two vacant critical care beds at the facility, an increase of two.

A total of 19 confirmed Covid-19 cases are being treated at the facility, one less than Monday's figure.

After two days without a new suspected case, three suspected cases at in care at the centre today.

Two confirmed cases are in critical care along with one suspected case.
