Mulroy's Beauty are Mayo Style Awards overall winners

Mulroy’s Beauty, Shamble Street, Castlebar, has been voted the overall winner of The Connaught Telegraph Mayo Style Awards.

The announcement was made at a gala ceremony on Friday night at Breaffy House Resort.

The 10-year-old business, headed by Mary Mulroy, and which employs a staff of 10, also emerged on top in the Best Beauty Salon category.

The salon's new medical grade laser service has proved extremely successful and was referenced by Mary when she was presented with her award by Rachel Murphy and Niamh O'Connell of Specsavers, Castlebar, the main sponsors of the event.

Mary and her team are no strangers to scooping accolades. Earlier this year Mulroy Beauty was named the International Institute for Anti-Ageing's Salon of the Year in London for the high standard of its advanced nutrition programme, placing it ahead of 156 salons from throughout the UK and Ireland.

The category winners announced at the event were:

- Beverly Hills, Castlebar (Best Boutique),

- Mulroy's Beauty, Castlebar (Best Beauty Salon or Day Spa),
