Sunny days are in store for next week

A heatwave is on the horizon

A HEATWAVE is predicted by Met. Eireann for next week.

From Tuesday, temperatures will rise to highes of between 20 and 24 degrees in light southeasterly breezes.

Wednesday will be another warm, sunny day, with temperatures up to 26 degrees in places. Isolated thundersorms are expected to break out in the afternoon and evening.

It will be still warm with hazy sunshine, but more widespread showers and thunderstorms.

As for this weekend, good sunshine will develop this afternoon and evening but it will also turn showery. There will be good, clear periods overnight with just a few isolated showers.

There’s little change tomorrow (Saturday) morning, but cloud will increase in the afternoon and evening with rain gradually spreading eastwards. Temperatures will reach highs of 17 to 20 degrees in freshening southerly winds.

Good sunshine will develop from midday onwards on Sunday, but a few showers will break out in the afternoon and evening.

Monday will be a bright morning with good sunshine, with cloud tending to increase in the afternoon. Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will occur along western coastal counties.
