Funeral of mayo footballer who died tragically

THE funeral arrangements have been announced for All-Ireland-winning Mayo minor star Darragh Doherty (19) who died last Sunday night following a collision on the N84 between Ballinrobe and Kilmaine.

His remains will be reposing at Kilmaine Community Centre tomorrow (Wednesday) evening from 5 to 9 p.m.

Removal takes place from his home at Ballyhenry, Shrule, on Thursday afternoon to St. Patrick’s Church, Kilmaine, for Requiem Mass at 1 p.m. Burial takes place afterwards in the New Cemetery, Kilmaine.

The GAA community is in deep mourning after the tragedy.

Darragh's friend, Niall Heneghan, who was injured in the collision, is recovering at Beaumount Hospital, Dublin.
