Floods continuing to cause disruption in Mayo

MAYO Civil Defence has provided an update of road closures in the county this evening (Thursday).

For residents in the Ballinrobe area who may be experiencing particular difficulty getting to and from their homes, Mayo Civil Defence is available to offer support and assistance. Please phone the Ballinrobe Office of Mayo County Council on (094) 9541029.

The list of closures is as follows.

 

Ballina Municipal District

LS5361 – Green Road, Foxford – Road Closed

LP1106 – Rakestreet to Keenagh – Road Closed

Barrett St. Ballina – Road Closed

Batchelors Walk, Ballina – Road Closed

 

Castlebar Municipal District

N60 Balla to Claremorris at Heathlawn - Down to one Lane controlled with traffic lights – approach with caution

R330 Partry to Srah west of Partry village – Water levels rising – this is being monitored – passable at present.

R315 Lahardaun to Pontoon Rd is closed at Browns Bay. Diversion via the R315 to Lahardane

and Crossmolina, N59 to Ballina and R310 to Pontoon and vice versa

L16011 - Road from Finney to Glemteigue (Tourmakeady) closed, bridge is damaged by Floods.

 

Claremorris Municipal District

R334 – Ballinrobe to Headford – Road closed at both The Neale and Cross - Use N84

R345 – Cong to The Neale – Is passable with care – (Note R334 closed both direction from The Neale)

R346 – Cong to Cross – Is passable with care, Cross to Headford open

L1612 & L1613 – Ballinrobe to Clonbur – Road Closed

L1611 – Ballinrobe to Roundfort – Road is Closed

One way system is in place in Cong Village

West Mayo Municipal District

L1813 – Cashel Road – Link road from N5 at Cloggernagh

East to R330 at Mace – Road Closed, and is likely to remain closed for a number of days.

Take care on the roads due to heavy flooding and surface water.
