Maeve Gallagher is the holder of three national cycling titles

THE Connaught Telegraph’s Young Sports Stars of the Year 2015 award winners (in association with Baxter Healthcare).

MAEVE Gallagher has won three national titles in cycling at the Irish National Youth Cycling Championships for time trial, road race and criterium for Under 14 girls.

She also won a gold medal for Mayo in the Community Games with the county's Under 14 cross country team and gold in Community Games for Under 15 duathalon, a combination of running and cycling and she is still underage for this event again next year.

She was also selected in August to be a member of the Irish Athletic Association Performance Squad as a result of her performance at the 1,500-metre distance.

She is the current Under 15 Connaught winner and bronze medallist in the All-Ireland race.
