Funding to boost Knock airport's security and safety

MINISTER of State Michael Ring has welcomed an allocation of €760,500 from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport to Ireland West Airport Knock.

The funding is for safety and security projects including an additional fire tender (€535,500), fire station extension (€175,500) and airfield inspection and control vehicle (€49,500).

Stated the Mayo TD: “This funding will greatly contribute to the safety and security for passengers and staff at Ireland West Airport Knock. I wish Ireland West Airport Knock continued success.'
