Dead body found in a car in Mayo

GARDAÍ in Mayo have confirmed that a dead body was discovered in a car earlier today in the Castlebar area.

The deceased, a female, has been removed to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar for a post-mortem.

Gardaí are conducting an investigation into the matter, but it is understood the circumstances are not suspicious.  

The name of the dead women is not being released at this time.
