Mayo restaurants on awards shortlist

A NUMBER of Mayo's top chefs and restaurants have been shortlisted in the hotly anticipated FOOD&WINE Magazine Restaurant of the Year Awards 2016 in association with Nespresso Business Solutions.

All of the winners will be announced at a glamorous awards ceremony hosted by broadcaster and publisher Norah Casey on Sunday, August 28, in The InterContinental Hotel in Dublin, and attended by the top chefs and restaurateurs from across the country.

Four Mayo restaurants are shortlisted in the Connaught category: An Port Mor, Westport; George V at Ashford Castle; La Fougere, Knockranny House Hotel, Westport; and Wilde's at The Lodge at Ashford Castle.

In the running for best chef are Frankie Mallon, An Port Mor, Jonathan Keane, The Lodge at Ashford, Philippe Farineau, Ashford Castle, and Seamus Commons, Knockranny House.

 

Nick Faujours, La Fougère, Knockranny, is a nominee for the best sommelier award.
