Mayo VeloRail project first in Ireland

THE country's first VeloRail is coming to Kiltimagh.

Funding of €180,000 was announced for the project this week by Minister of State Michael Ring.

VeloRail is an outdoor recreational activity using small, rail mounted pedal-propelled vehicles to move along a disused railway line.

The project will be the first of its kind in Ireland, and indeed in the UK, utilising 13 kilometres of the disused Sligo to Limerick line passing through the town of Kiltimagh.
