Mayo arrests for public order after match

GARDAÍ throughout Mayo have reported a number of arrests for public order following yesterday's All-Ireland SFC final.

Pubs throughout the region did a roaring trade as the match progressed, with many patrons extending their stay in light of the excitement generated by the Mayo performance in securing a draw against the current All-Ireland champions.

Meanwhile, a man has been interviewed and released following the theft of a quantity of alcohol from a shop in Lord Edward Street, Ballina, at the weekend.

The break-in to the premises occurred when a front window was broken.

The person arrested is expected to appear before the courts at a later date.
