National awards for Mayo butcher shop

CAROLAN'S Meats, Davitt's Terrace, Castlebar, have secured a number of national awards.

The establishment was selected as national winner for prime T-Bone steak by the Association of Craft Butchers of Ireland in the Feast of Flavour Speciality Foods finals 2016-2017.

Carolans also picked up a national gold award for their rack of lamb, cooked with honey and mustard, a national silver award for their sirloin burger with fiery sauce, a runner-up medal for their chicken supreme stuffed with pudding stuffing and bacon, a gold medal for their traditional sausage, a gold medal for pork and bramley speciality sauce, and a silver for their lamb stir-fry in Greek Passion Sauce.

Well done to Pat and his staff on their magnificent achievement.
