National distinction for Mayo florists

BALLA Florists has been named the west's Best Wedding Florists at the Irish Wedding Awards in Dublin.

The prize-giving ceremony was held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Dublin.

Florist Judi Roche, who is in business in Balla for 13 years, was unable to attend the awards because its one of the busiest times of the year ahead of Valentine’s Day.

'It's a great accolade for a Mayo business and we are very proud,' she stated.

Balla Florists are also finalists in the national weddings on line competition.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at Clontarf Castle on February 20.
