Glen Keen scoops second Award of Excellence

GLEN Keen Farm and Visitor Centre, Louisburgh, was awarded the prestigious CIE Tours International Award of Excellence for consistently exceeding clients expectations at a lavish awards ceremony in City Hall in the grounds of Dublin Castle.

Winners are chosen from an independent evaluation of questionnaires completed throughout 2016 by CIE Tours International coach tour clients.

After receiving the award, owners Catherine and Jim Powers expressed their extreme delight with this achievement after such a short time in business.

They said that the award is testament to the wonderful team they have at Glen Keen Farm and thanked their staff and South West Mayo Development Company for their support and commitment to the visitor experience at Glen Keen.

The highly rated visit to Glen Keen Farm involves a sheep herding experience and a detailed presentation of the history of this hidden gem along the Wild Atlantic Way.

CIE Tours International brings in almost 50,000 visitors to Ireland each year, and is a major contributor to the Irish tourism industry. Glen Keen Farm was presented with the prestigious Gold Award of Best Tour Feature by CIE Tours in 2015.

Glen Keen Farm and visitor centre is entering its third season and is located just six miles on the R335 outside the town of Louisburgh. The newly built visitor centre includes a seasonal restaurant, craft shop, exhibition area and outdoor farm demonstration area for group visitors.

Glen Keen provides an authentic and engaging visitor experience where the guest can enjoy a piece of traditional Ireland.
