Man who died in Mayo road accident is named

A FARMER in his early sixties who died in a road accident near Claremorris on Friday has been named as Patrick (Paddy) Lavin, a single man, who lived in the townland of Rockfield, near Claremorris.

The deceased had been in his vehicle for a number of hours before his body was discovered by a passerby who raised the alarm.

Mr. Lavin, a popular figure in his local community, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
