Boy injured in school playground gets €40,000 compensation

A BOY who fell from a rock in a school playground dislocating his elbow has had a settlement of €40,000 approved by the Circuit Civil Court.

The youngster, who is now 11-years-old, sued Foxford Childcare Limited, Admiral Browne Road Foxford, through his mother.

Judge Rory MacCabe, sitting in Castlebar, today (Thursday), approved a settlement of €40,000.

He said the sum the money would be invested in its entirety on behalf of the schoolboy untill he reaches 18 years of age,

The incident in which the boy was injured occurred in May 2011.
