Westport hosts hugely successful International Mini Meeting

WESTPORT welcomed the International Mini Meeting 2017 on the grounds of Westport House over the weekend. Mini car enthusiasts from all over Europe, including Norway and Slovakia, travelled across continents with their Minis to be part of this international event.

In excess of 1,200 Mini cars filled the grounds of Westport House on a beautiful, warm, sunny weekend.

The vast exhibit of the many models of the Austin Mini covered the long history of their manufacture from 1959-2000. The Mini was manufactured at the Longbridge and Cowley plants in England.

Austin Mini car enthusiasts have preserved, restored and rebuilt the cars and today many Mini car clubs exist around the world.

On Saturday evening the influx of mini cars into and around the streets of Westport gave an international flavour to the town.

Over the weekend thousands of people made their way to the grounds of Westport House to see the hundreds of beautiful models of the Austin Mini and to talk to their proud owners.
