Passing of popular Mayo hairdresser

THE death has occurred unexpectedly at Galway University Hospital of Eamonn Donelon, Castle Hill Park, Old Turlough Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Artane, Dublin.

In his early sixties, he ran a successful business at Thomas Street in the town for many years and was held in high regard within the profession.

The deceased was a member of Castlebar Golf Club for many years.

He is survived by his wife Anne (née Cunningham), son Barry, Barry's partner Signe, grandchildren Rebeka and Erika, parents Ned and Una, Artane, Dublin, brothers and sisters Carina, Colm, Rory, Maeve, Blaithin, Ronan and Enda, uncle, aunt, father-in-law Sean Cunningham, Richard Street, Castlebar, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, relatives , many friends and his loyal customers, to whom sympathy is tendered.

He was predeceased by his brothers Ciaran and Eoin.

His remains will be reposing at Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Burial takes place in the New Cemetery, Castlebar, on Monday after 11 a.m. Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
