Fresh call for crash barriers along dangerous Foxford to Straide stretch

CONCERNS have been raised over a section of the Foxford to Straide roadway since improvement works were carried out on it some time ago.

During the course of the work, the road was raised and since then it has been extremely dangerous because of a deep drop on either side.

A concerned resident contacted The Connaught Telegraph to call for crash barriers to be erected along the stretch.

The resident stated: “Over the last two weeks, four cars have gone over the edge of the road after skidding. They were not the first and won’t be the last. In the last year at least nine cars have gone over the edge.

“So I am worried it is only a matter of of time before someone is killed. The NRA needs to deal with this with immediate effect.”

The issue has been raised on a number of occasions by Councillor Neil Cruise.
