Knotweed firm sets sights on Ballyhaunis

HAVING been spurned in Claremorris, a Co. Kerry based knotweed company now hopes to set up a base in Ballyhaunis.

A spokesman for the company said they hope to have an application for planning permission lodged with the county council in the next few weeks.

The location of the proposed site is at Drimbane, Ballyhaunis, off the Claremorris road, clsoe to the Western Proteins Plant.

Plans by the company, which specialises in the processing of waste material from locations where the highly invasive japanese knotweed have taken hold, to locate in Claremorris were abandoned following local objections.
